Costs and Eligibility for Services Since our inception, we have provided over $5.3 million in free dentistry! We recently added a fee-based component to allow us to treat clients who do not fulfill the requirements for no-cost service. No Fee Services Clients must be medically indigent having no private insurance and must be receiving SSI, SSDI, Medicaid or other appropriate subsidized income. The patient may work but must earn less than $17,705 annually (2005) or $1475 monthly (2005) (single, no dependents). People with dependents may earn more. Verification of HIV status and income is required. There is no fee associated with these services. But, to qualify for no fee services, patients have to be residents of Denver, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Adams, Jefferson or Douglas counties. Fee Based Services Howard Dental Center has expanded dental services into a fee-based (sliding fee scale) component for individuals with HIV and AIDS that do not qualify for our no cost services. Fees determined by income guidelines.
